During a visit to the Invictus games on day three of the competition, the Corps Colonel was able to support and catch up with a few of the RLC’s amazing and inspirational athletes competing at the games.
He met up with Charlie Walker and Gareth Golightly at the wheelchair basketball, which was an electrifying event at the Copper Box. Not content with representing his country in one event, Charlie Walker has already won Gold for team GB with Caroline Dufley RLC in the bone crunching final of the wheelchair rugby. Col Corrie also cheered Sgt Joanne Morris RLC across the line in the road bike event, where she had won a bronze medal in the time trial earlier in the day.

The most recent Operational Honours and Awards List, which recognises the bravery, commitment, leadership and commendable service of those within the military, has been released, including the names of four RLC personnel.
Congratulations to Major Kerry Schultz (27 Regiment RLC) and WO2 Ben Wright (11 EOD&Search Regiment RLC) who were awarded the Queen’s Commendation for Valuable Service. Captain Karl Williams (27 Regiment RLC) and SSgt Steven Cockburn (11 EOD&Search Regiment RLC) both received the Queen’s Commendation for Bravery.

A/LCPL Kwarteng and A/LCPL Kwame-Tanoh of 64 Squadron, 6 Regiment RLC, who have been attached to BATUK for the past four weeks, have paid a visit to the Hope & Home Orphanage in Nanyuki, Kenya where they made food donations to the Charity.
The two soldiers decided to raise funds from friends and family in the UK via Facebook, raising a total of £150 (KSH 22,000.00) which was used to purchase much needed supplies for the orphans.
