We welcome one and all, whether you earned your wings or not. All we require is that you served honourably and with pride whilst on the nominal roll of any British Army Airborne Forces Unit.

For those who took advantage of the opportunity and jumped into (please excuse the pun) the challenge of Pre-Para, P-Company and military parachutist training and were successful in earning their maroon beret and then gained their wings; we are part of a very small and select bunch of characters. 

Those who served with the Airborne Forces who, for whatever reason didn’t pass or did not get as far as P-Company,  it matters not. We all served together within the Airborne Forces and experienced something quite unique in the British Army.

We as a group get together on several occasions each year to remember the fallen, revel in how we survived, reminisce of the good times as well as the bad and generally re-acquaint with old comrades.

There’s an annual get-together arranged by our Chairman; Chip Walker, which mirrors the march undertaken by many soldiers based along the coast en-route to embarkation for D-Day during World War Two. The Hero’s walk follows a route along the Jurassic Coast from Lulworth Cove to Weymouth.

Furthermore, each September, in homage to the heroic defence of Arnhem in 1944, we hold a spirited reunion. We have been fortunate enough to have been welcomed back to the fantastic venue of the Smugglers Inn at Blue Anchor Bay near Minehead.  

In 2025 this event will take place on Saturday 27 September.

If you earned your wings and became a qualified military parachutist, there are further opportunities in partnership with the British Airborne Forces Club (www.bafc.org.uk) and the Parachute Regiment Association.  We often get to  meet up with each other at events such as the legendary ‘Fan Dance’ a Pen-Y-Fan soirée each May,  the Aldershot Ten Miler each November with the BAFC ( British Airborne Forces Club).  

Then of course the the annual Airborne Forces weekend in Aldershot each July.  There is much more too.

As previously alluded to. We welcome veterans as well as serving/current soldiers who fall under the requirements for the Group. A simple application form is all that is required prior to being accepted into the group. Airborne Chefs Association Membership Form
