The Officers’ Club

Membership of the Officers’ Club is open to all who have held a commission in the Royal Army Service Corps (RASC) or the Royal Corps of Transport (RCT). It has recently been extended to include LE officers commissioned into The Royal Logistic Corps (RLC), who started their service in the RCT. Current membership is about 800, with members located throughout the world.

The main purpose of membership is to keep in touch with former friends and colleagues, and to keep alive the comradeship and esprit de corps that was so important during military service. The Club promotes a “sense of belonging to an entity which has an existence, a past, a present and a future of its own.”

A Club Annual Dinner is held in October each year at The Village Hotel, Farnborough. An autumn and a spring Curry Lunch take place in Worthy Down, usually combined with a trip to the RLC Museum there. In addition, the Officers’ Club Associated Organisations (such as the Officers’ Luncheon Club, the Airborne Officers’ Club and the Waggon Club) all hold attractive fellowship events throughout the year.

There is an annual Church service in the Church of St Michael & St George, Aldershot on Corps Sunday, which takes place on the nearest Sunday to the formation of the RCT on 15 July 1965. The service is followed by a well-attended curry lunch, shared with the Association, in Farnborough.

A newsletter, The Waggoner, is published twice a year and is distributed to both the members of the Club and members of the RASC & RCT Association. The Waggon Master is the Officers’ Club newsletter and is distributed in May each year. You can view current and back issues HERE

Due to GDPR regulations, the Members’ Handbook (The Blue Book) is no longer published.

We take an active interest in the heritage and traditions of our Corps; our Regimental Chattels. All funds and the RCT Medal Collection have been gifted to The RLC. We operate alongside the RASC & RCT Association, and both are governed by the RASC & RCT Council. The Club and the Association are well represented on the principal RLC Charity Committees.
