Trooping the Colour commemorative cover

Her Majesty The Queen’s Birthday Parade ‘Trooping the Colour’ takes place on the 17 Jun 2017 and The British Forces Philatelic Service, in partnership with the Household Division Charity, has produced a commemorative cover to mark the event.

This year it is the turn of the 1st Battalion Irish Guards, who will be ‘Trooping The Colour’ at 10am from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Parade via the Mall.

The majestic cover produced to commemorate this year’s event bears an image of a 1st class stamp, cancelled using a unique British Forces Postal Service special handstamp No. 3204. The cancellation features the Irish Guards’ regimental capstar.

Covers may be ordered from the BFPS online shop (www.bfps.org.uk/shop). They cost just £6 for the standard version and £12 for the signed limited edition versions (UK/BFPO p&p free).

They can also be ordered by posting by sending a cheque (payable to ‘BFPS CIC’) to BFPS, The Old Post Office Links Place, Elie, Fife, KY9 1AX.

These covers are always popular and are available whilst stocks last.

The RLC Aquatics open water swimming team made history! Led by WO1 Shawn Bailey MBE, the incredible team completed a two-way swim across the English Channel, from England to France and back again, with a total swim time of 22 hours and 16 minutes. This phenomenal achievement marks them as the first ever mixed military relay team to conquer this feat, and the first in RLC history to do so. Since 1875, only 48 other teams have achieved this, and they are the only military team this century to join them.Through relentless training, unshakable determination, and exceptional skill, they also raised £7885 for military charities during our journey. Huge congrats to the team: WO1 Shawn Bailey MBE, Maj Clive Allford, Maj John Howell, Maj Paul Vidler, Capt Lucy Powell, Cpl Kelly May and Cpl Emma Meechan #WeAreTheRLC #youbelonghere #wesustain ...
