Why the long face?This week our equestrian team is competing at the royal tournament in Melton Mowbray. The week-long competition sees riders compete in a variety of different events including showjumping, cross country and tent pegging. The royal tournament isn't just open to the army, teams from across defence are all competing for the crown. With horse riding tracing back to the Corps roots in the wagon train the team are keen to keep equestrian sport within the RLC alive and are always looking for new riders.Pte Leung 151 RLC “I’m really pleased with how my horse has behaved today, it’s his first time jumping on grass so I was a little apprehensive at first but he took it in his stride. It’s fantastic to see newer riders from the corps team here too, we would love to expand our team so if you know anyone who wants to give it a try send them our way! ”If you'd like more information about equestrian sport in the RLC please check out their pages on facebook and facebook.

The Royal Logistic Corps are the World Pace-sticking Champions!Yes you read that right!!!!!Today, the Corps Pace-sticking team competed against teams from around the world at the world pace-sticking championships. Finishing top of the rankings the team's calibre shone through against all the competitors. WO2 (SSM) Wardle drove the team to success with stunning command and control along with pinpoint precision.“The hardest part for me wasn't the competition itself but getting the team together! Sports awards winners 2022 : Team of the year Royal Logistic Corps Cycling Association (RLCCA) Ladies team (Road and Mountain bike) are leading the way in Army Cycling.The success of the RLCCA Ladies team has grown from strength to strength over the last six years. Road Team Captain and Manager Maj Michelle Debono-Evans and 2IC Capt Sue Chittock combined with Major Tracey Mackenzie-Rayner for Mountain biking changed this by leading from the front on the bike and also igniting a successful recruitment drive for new ladies. The RLC ladies now field 4 of the 10 members of the Army Ladies Road Race Team and one of the 5 members of the Army XC MTB Team. Their list of achievements includes winning the Williams Cup in successive years (2018 and 2019), the only team to have their name on the trophy to date (taking into consideration the cancelled events in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID), they took second place in the Inter Corps Championships and numerous podium places across Senior, Masters, Grand Masters and the Team Categories every year. E-cycling popularity during the COVID restrictions, provided further opportunity to demonstrate their ability, with the RLC Ladies’ team leading the way in the Army Cycling Union e-racing series on Zwift. They have recorded consistent podium places and have been commended as the only Corps to field a full ladies’ team across the race series.
