At The Corps Dinner Night held on 22 January 2014, Mr Paul Downey, Chief Executive of the DefLogVQ Trust presented the Professional Development Committee with a further cheque for £100,000 towards vocational training. He is seen handing the cheque to Maj Gen Mark Poffley, with Maj Gen Ian Copeland and Col John Grinstead in the Medal Room of the HQ RLC Officer’s Mess at Deepcut.
The Trustees of the DefLog VQ Trust donated the money to support RLC Professional Development and Training. Col RLC has the responsibility for managing these funds on behalf of the Professional Development Committee, and they should ideally be allocated by 31 July 2014. Expenditure must fall within the charitable objectives, namely “to advance education of the public in logistics and associated trades, vocational qualifications, educational and training schemes.
Commanders and COs should suggest opportunities to use these funds to better our soldiers. Individuals are also encouraged to apply for funds. Suggestions and applications should be submitted through the Corps Adjt to Col RLC.
