RASC/RCT Association Job Vacancy

The RASC and RCT Association is keen to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to fill the role of RASC and RCT Association Secretary.

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced, retired officer or soldier – ideally, but not exclusively – with previous service in the RCT and/or RLC. The successful candidate for the post, will be appointed by the President of the RASC and RCT Council and the Chairman of the RASC and RCT Association, in consultation with the RHQ The RLC, who will be the employer of the future Secretary.    

The terms of service will be provided to all interested applicants, which include information about this full time employment (37 1/2 hours per week), which includes 30 days annual leave and a competitive salary, comparable to that of a C2 Civil Servant. 

The Secretary will be responsible to the Chairman of the RASC and RCT Association and will represent the RASC and RCT Association in the Corps Headquarters.  The successful applicant will be based in RHQ The RLC in Worthy Down, near Winchester.

Further Details – The role holder will be responsible for:

Overseeing the Association Membership data base with dedicated clerical support.

Secretary to all Association meetings in particular the Committee of Management. 

Custodian and Editor of the Association Handbook.

Production and Editorial for the Waggoner Newsletter. 

Attending Regional AGMs and Regional and Branch social functions.

Coordinating with the Treasurer RHQ The RLC the authorisation and payment of grants and claims.

Organising the Association Annual Corps Dinner and Dance on Corps Saturday.

Organising the Association Annual Corps Lunch on Corps Sunday.

Focal point for RASC and RCT enquiries from members and the public.

Organising the RASC and RCT Association Plot at the Field of Remembrance.

Organising the RASC and RCT Contingent at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday.

Liaising with the Royal Hospital Chelsea with regard to RASC and RCT In-Pensioners.
